Default WHERE do you pack your stuff?

I've seen all the threads on WHAT to pack for long trips. But WHERE do you put things forbalance, and accessibility?

I have a Road King Classic w/detachable Tour Pak. I figurethings like tools would golow on the frame, but I'd like to have some items in the Tour Pak justbecause it's easier to get into.

I'm a rookie when it comesto overnight trips and we're going to NW Arkansasthe 1st week in Oct. for 4 days. Justneeding some suggestions on packing.

Thankseveryone.

Keep the heavy stuff as low as possible. Keep in mind that a collection of small stuff can get heavy. Don't take anything you don't absolutely need. If you have a rider, wife, girl, have her bring toilitries you can both share and use. Keeping the weight down is #1 for good handeling of the bike. I have a list I can send you if you like. I don't take anywhere near what's on it,but it's a starting point.

Also,if you're going for 3 days or 3 weeks, the stuff and the load is basically the same. You just have to wash clothes,or wear dirty ones..ewww...

You load the stuff as per needed. Sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, camera, you use all the time.So you need to be able to grab them. tools, accessible, but you most likely won't need. heavy jackets, bottom of the bag, raingear, accessible on top. You get the idea.

I also have the saddle bag lid organizers for my RKC and a windshield bag. Both are very handy.

.... I'm not familiar with the lid organizers. I don't think I've ever seen those.

Do you have the 3 pouch windshield bag?

EDIT: Went to the HD website and checked out those lid liners. My question, now, is: Will they fit the leather bag lids?

I've got the single pouch windshield bag. The leather design matches my RKC saddlebags. I have the lid organizers in my leather saddle bags. No problem. Just get the ones that fit the Road King Classic.
