Default another ride ruined

Yesterday about 5pm on 295 around Richmond, Va. A group was riding and one bike changing lanes ran into the back of a wrecker. The driver was killed on the spot. He had recieved his learners permit on Thursday. What type of bike he was riding was not released, yet.

Another sad story but you have to ask yourself why was a guy with a learners permit riding in a group and why was he the only one changing lanes?

This is only my opinion but people just learning to ride need to ride with 1 or 2 bikes max, and hit the country roads.

It's sad that somebody, who obviously wanted to ride had their life so suddenly ended.....but as was previously said, why was HE the only one changing lanes?

I agree, no more than 1 or 2 other rider when learning. And not on the freeway.

Sad story. But a learner's permit does not necessarily mean beginner. I had to get one when I got back into ridingbecause it's state law. I was no rookie, but I hadn't ridden in 40 years either (didn't need permits then). I still stayed off the 4 lane for a month while I got used to riding again. If he rear-ended the tow truck on a highway, just how fast was that guy going? Sounds like total carelessness on his part.

I'm willing to bet if he had taken the safety course he would not have made that move and would still be here.

D Pete

You got it. If you don't grow up on a bike, take the course and take your time.
