Default Hitting Road Debris

I recently hit a two by four in the middle of the road going about 50 mph. Luckily I hit it square on and rode right over it. The question I have is What do you think would have happened if the 2x4 was on a 45 degree angle. would that have pushed me into oncoming traffic of would I have just rode over it as before. Anybody do this?

My guess is that the results would be similar to your experience as long as you didn't hit the brakes.

Likely bounce right over it. I like to get up on the pegs a little when I seea rough ride coming up...pothole, debris, etc.

They teach it in the basic riders course. The concern would be if it bounced up when the front tire went over it.

I cant answer that specific question,, BUT....
I recall as a kid, hittin garden hose on bike at 45 degree,,,, face plant real quick
hittin RR tracks on dirt bike at 45 degree,,, face plant real quick
etc.etc.etc.. so,, I learned lesson early.

hmmm,,,, maybe thats why I'm not a GQ model!

In the middle 50's a motor officer in Detroit was riding the center of his lane when he hit a common brick. He was killed in the accident.

Depends if it was wet or dry.
