I haven't been around here forever, but long enough to see the responses to the same questions that get asked time and time again. The brother-in-law is having his first bike (05 Deuce) shipped to a local dealer here in Atlanta for me to pick up prior to his move down here next summer. About every other day I get a call from him with questions about what he "needs" for the bike. It's really funny,the things he asks, should he go with synthetic, does he need chaps, best helmet, etc... To be honest, I asked a lot of those questions myself, and suppose most of us new riders did too. I've given him a link to this site with instruction to read, read, read. I can't tell you how much info I've gotten here, from maintenance tips to the proper way to wave (with or without fingerless gloves). Made me grateful for all the posts that helped me ease into being a Harley owner. Thanks everyone.

 

I agree! This place is great. By reading all the info available, I've been able to make good choices on all the things I've bought for the bike. Some might have been better, but I'm pleased with all of them. I'm not sure I could say that if I had to decide on add ons all by myself.

 

I"ll second that. There are some very smart people in here, with some good info to share.

Actually it has a lot to do with the correct finger position.

 

Been a member of many forums { car, truck, and bike } and this is by far one of the better ones out there . I just hope it stays that way ?

Have him join the Forum so he can participate in the great info and the weirdness[&:]. Then he can get a good understanding of fingerless gloves, yellow jacks,blue Loctiteetc.
