Am watching a show on A&E that is a "look at the biker lifestyle"...

According to this show, we die in shootouts or bike crashes, blow beer and cocaine on pictures of our fallen bretheren, and get arrested on a daily basis. But... we do think heroin is taboo...

Sounds like us, right? (note sarcasm)

Used to be Hollywood gave us the bad name with silly-a$$ed movies, but now we're documented in fact-based TV programming as the low-life, drug-using, gang busting people I'm sure we all are (note additional sarcasm).

And evidently, we're like we are simply because we need the camraderie of others equally as insecure.

Hey, but we do give to Toys for Tots (nice of them to mention that).

Maybe an email to A&E, at least asking them to tout the show as a documentary about one biker gang, and not the "biker life-style" might be in order.

I guess I'll step out and burn a small village now....

Yeah, the Ching a Lings, which would have been fine if they'd described it as a show about that group, but the description that got me there was "a show about the biker lifestyle"...

Was a bit insulted. Kinda like a show about Manson being described as "the folks from California"...

 

I saw that show some time ago. A bunch of low life's if you ask me....I wouldn't worry about it to much just do your part by being considerate of others. That's the way we can all improve the image.

 

Well, I don't claim to be perfect, not sure I should be a role model, but my kids love me...

I have been asked the most inane questions about what it's like to ride a bike, from people who have clearly been watching American Chopper and now maybe this, so I guess my biggest complaint is the lack of good information about people who ride.

I guess it would be pretty boring to watch a show about a guy that started riding when he was 12, joined the service right out of high school, built a career on what he learned in the service, rode whatever junk he could get his hands on until said career got good enough to allow him to ride the bikes he wanted, raised the kids, kept the jobs, stayed out of jail....

Guess that would be pretty damn boring. But probably a better cross section of the real bike rider... (although, I'm going to make it clear in my will that beer drinking and partying would be a much better send-off for me than moping and crying - I had a good time).

Hey I resemble that! If being with my husband of 18 years, since I was 18, raising 3 kids, and holding a steady job for 17 years until the kids needed me more than our family needed the extra $. Then buying harley's with a cashed out 401k, guess I otta be jailed, right along with my selfemployed husband!! cause our values must be questioned!!

Hey RedScout, I had no idea that I was supposed to do all that crap. I best get started, I've been doing it wrong for oh so many years!
hmmm, I guess the next poster will have to clean up my mess.

 

Our 'Gang', "The Mother Roaders" consist of 4 engineers (2 retired), a stock trader, 2 school teachers, 2 retired cops and their wives. I live in a $700K+ house, drive a Lincoln cage. A few years ago our end of the neighborhood bought a lot of Harleys, down the street the mid live crisis guys bought annaversery Corvettes. As us Baby Boomers get close to Social Security it is time to have a little fun! The kids are gone, house paid for. Might as well spend it on fun things.

So, I'm not supposed to be drinking/carousing/snorting/acting like an a$$? Or I am? I just wish somebody would define my lifestyle for me so I could get down to the business of being "BAD." All this reassessment is getting in the way of my party time! Or is that supposed to be family time?!?

I give up, think I'll just ride.
