Yup!
I was about to ask the same question.
Seen a lot of them around in the '80s and early '90s, now they seem to have fallen out of fashion.
What's about them? What were they for?

They were very popular in the '40s and '50s with hot rod car builders.
They are illegal in most states unles it is on vintage hot rod or similar car.
Don't know too much more.

Pretty much a late 40 to early 50s custom hot rod trend. The blue changed the color of the taillight when illuminated to a purple-ish glow. Very popular on a 39 teardrop taillight. Kits are still available for hot rodders. You must have it on a tombstone type taillight on your bike, correct? The ultimate retro look.

Nope, its not on a tombstone, standard tail light on a ultra glide, it looks like it"s rotating when switched on, had a few guys say its like being hypnotised,

RE: Blue Spot
Yes they were big in the 50's on Hot Rods. Now people put them on their hot rods.
Theyre called Blue Dots.

They are illegal in some areas. Not all. On Street Rods for the most part cops look the other way.
On Motorcycles?
I wouldnt bet on it.

Had them on my '40 Ford Coupe way back when. One of those 'gotta have' accessories from Pep Boys! Put one on my softail, and now I have a chrome skull with blue eyes on my ElectraGlide.....but then, I'm old!
Yes, they are illegal but the cop has to be real CS to give you a ticket....unless you are being as ***

The Blue dots were one of the first accessories I put on my Road King Classic. Here's a shot of the tail lights.
