Bought mine recently, with a lot of dealer add-ons (pipes, bars, etc). They said they were booked up for 2 1/2 weeks before they could do the work.
The bike arrived at the dealer on Tuesday (2 days after I bought it), they started the work next Fri, a good two weeks early and it was delivered Sunday, 1 week after I bought it. THey called me multiple times to let me know it was ready early to set up a delivery.
Underpromise and overdeliver is a good strategy. :-)
My dealer tries to be a local home for harley riders, they had a chili cookoff last week for example, and the local H.O.G rides leave from their lot. Seems like there are always some riders there, just stopping by. It adds to the atmosphere of that dealership.
One of the interesting experiences I had when dealing with them was watching them close, with 100+ bikes on the outdoor lot, all of which had to be ridden inside and locked up, it was like a herd of cattle (they had 6 or seven riders moving them), but they were all Harleys, some beautifully lit up in the early evening, I felt like I should have taken a video. But a cell phone can't do justice to the sound, especially in a big echo chamber like that. :-)
Ok, I did see a used Honda go by, thought that was funny. :-)

Out of the 3 dealers in San Diego I like Sweetwater the best. It's the most laid back and the folks working there are just good people. Every time I stop by I am always welcome to test ride anything.
Now, if I can just get harley to produce an XR1250 with 150HP and 120TQ I can go buy a new bike.

I had a great buying experience at " Chester's Reno Harley Davidson" . The salesman I had Tony, was very informed and showed great patience with me. Test rides on '16 and '17 Ultra Limited Low's. Saw an '18 115 Anniversary Model in Blue. That was one beautiful bike. Too bad it wasn't a low. Anyways, I just about bought that Anniversary Edition. But, went home slept on it, Next day they called me and I had changed my mind back to a Low. Ended up with a '18 Ultra Limited Low in what HD calls Twisted Cherry. Reminds me of the color Black Cherry.
So great buying experience, Parts Dept. seemed like nice folks. Now the only other Dept of any consequence is the Service Dept. That will come at a later date.
