Default help taking off pipes.....

2003 sporty 883c. V&H pipes were put on by prior owner. some damage was done to them and I want to take them off for repair. Is this pretty simple or should I take it in. The part that concerns me is where the pipe goes into the engine.I'm kinda new to bike repair, please go easy on me.

there should only be 6 bolts holding the pipes on. 2 at each head (where the pipe attaches to the motor) and 2 near the open end of the pipe. Take all 6 bolts out and you shouldnt have any problems.

Just remember, when you do finally get them off, remove the old gaskets, which will be somewhat pressed into where the pipes connect to the engine. Be sure to use new exhaust gaskets when you put the pipes back on.
