Seriously...anyone else have this problem
Been riding street bikes for 20+ years now and over the past 2-3 years I have a real bad problem with numbness in both arms/hands every morning on the way to work. Used to be only when I rode to work but now it is everyday ridin' or drivin..My quacko-practor (love ya Dr.Joe) has said that it is probably Carpal tunnel, or repetitive motion disorder?!?! (no j/o jokes pls)
..Anybody else? No noticeable difference in strength just that damn burning feeling, have tohang arms down at stoplights to get to stop...If so any remedies beside surgery?? Arm braces seem to work for awhile but then it comes again..Vicodin/whiskey aren't an alternative that early in the day...

Sorry to hear that but, yes, you seem to have got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
My best buddy has been riding crotch rockets for over 20 years now. All race bikes, that are even harsher on the arm joints.
He's also a shooter. He got the first signs and symptoms on the shooting range: firing semiauto pistols (quite high on vibrations themselves) he found his hands started shaking uncontrollably after a few shots. I witnessed this. he coudln't keep the gun steady with two hands, and at 30' he was spraying all over the target (he's always been a very good shot). Since he gave up motorcycles, a good 4 years ago, things have gone better. Now he got himself a new Yamaha R1, and I foresee his problem coming back.
Unfortunately there's not much that can be done. Absolute rest (especially from vibrations) and medicines like ibuprofene, and certain vitamine complexes that help nerves can reduce symptoms until when they disappear, but by the time you got numbness I fear you are beyond the inflammation stage, and well into the calcification stage... sorry, I'm italian and don't know the exact medical terms in english.
Consult a specialist as soon as possible.
Try to avoid vibrations in your wrists. Typing is bad, for example.

What about the position of your bars/grips? I think these symptoms tend to get exaggerated with apes because the heart has to pump the blood up hill, so to speak, which makes it tougher to get oxygen to the muscles.

Could be circulation problems where blood flow is being restricted or maybe a pinched nerve. I would get it checked out though.

Where do you feel numbness?
All the fingers - cause could be something else, like circulation.
Middle, index and thumb, then it could be carpal.
Here three links that could help you determine if you got carpal tunnel syndrome.

Hubby used to have same problem when riding hisbike. Had the 10,000mi tune and the problem stopped. Suspect a vibration issue.

How is your weight/bloodpressure? I had a similar deal and the handlebar position on my lowrider for some reason stopped it. But I have high BP and take meds for it. My doc put me on .81 mg enteric asprin daily dose because of my circulation. Works for me! I have the same issue in my right leg because I had vericose veins removed so now I can only use mid controls because the position of highway pegs or forward controls cause my right foot to tingle in about 15-20 minutes.
Last year I went on a big workout program...lost 42 lbs and do a 90 minute daily gym resistance/cardio workout. Now 6 months later I get no tingling sensation at all. So I have basically exercised my way out of it. May or may not work for you but I'll do anything to avoid drugs/surgery. I would recommend you give it a try. Almost forgot, had my seat stuffed with miraclefoam and it relieves the foot tingling about 90%. Your symptoms sound just like mine. Better get your carcass moving...the endorphins your body generates from advanced exercise will also rid you of any joint pain as well.

I get that when I ride wrong, handlebars aren't in the correct position, or gloves are wrong. Seems to pinch something and cut off circulation, which is why your numb! Happens more in cold weather cuz of my grip and gloves. If you get your hands in the right position and your elbows/shoulders in right position, you shouldn't feel that.
I don't think it's carpel....try several things to right it with bike, gloves, position, etc.

I have numbness in right hand when riding. It starts about 30min into ride. Usually thumb, index and middle finger. When I stop at a light I usually shake it out a bit and the numbness goes away for about 5 min and starts back up. I was thinking it is a nerve problem that stems from my elbow. It only happens when I'm riding.
