Hanging up the half helmet!

RE: Hanging up the half helmet!
I switched to a Nolan 102 after 30 years of a beanie helmet. Took a while to get used to it and nowafter a year its great. I am old and it was time for an age appropriate upgrade for my helmet and equally old leather jacket which has more skid marks on it then leather. The fancy VPR negates the need to keep track of a pair of sun glasses.

I've had several full face helmets before and they were o.k. This time I bought the Nolan modular (flip up chin bar). It is absolutely great. Flip it up when puttsing around town and in the hotter weather. Flip it down when you hit the hi-way. I notice there is alot less head buffeting with a full face as compared to a 1/2 or 3/4.

I like my 3/4...Shoeis are great. Once you get used to it you'll love it.

Your right this Shoei helmet fits great, no movement even without the chin strap. Will not take too long to get used to it. Raced motocross for 14 years, most of them using full face. Even then had 2 concussions, one severe, out of commission for about a week. Cracking your squash will make you a believer.

I'm old too. But got skin cancer so the sun really affects me. If I want to ride I gotta protect the skin from the sun. Hate it but had to start using a modular helmet. At least I can still ride!

I've seriously been thinking about going to a full face. the thought of grinding my face off on the pavement just doesnt sound to appealing. [:'(]
