This past sunday, up at a place in Scottsdale having a nice brunch. Got done, went back out to the bike, put helmet and vest on, jumped on, hit start and bike went 2 feet forward and almost dumped it hardcore!!! I usually ALWAYS put it in neutral but the one time I didn't almost fvcked up the bike damn near!! I got lucky, usually I start it as I put on my gear so had I done that, it would have went over for sure....phew, close call anyway....lesson definately learned!!!

 

Always kick it into neutral when coming to a stop.Never hit starter until positive in neutral.I must have done it once otherwize I wouldn't be so cautious.

 

That's just perfectly stupid. I mean, really dumbass.

Oh wait, I've done that at least once...

 

It was close for me. Found out that I dont have a neutral safety.
It jumped but didnt start.
Learn something everyday.

+1 I never assume that I left it in neutral. It's to easy for a passerby to kick it into gear while the bike is unattended.

Good job on the save though.

 

amazing how they lurch foward isn't it.

 

In neutral or not I always grab a handfull of clutch before hitting the starter.

 

I saw a gut with all his friends in parking lot, all lined up, lookin real cool,talking the loudest, do this, his head jacked back so far,his head looked like it hit his back, friends of his roared, he was not talking so loud them.

 

I plead the 5th...

 

Haven't done it yet, but my buddy did it right next to me when we were getting ready to leave a bike night. Needless to say I looked the other way because I couldn't help but crack up at his ***.
