 \\; I tried on some new ones and the way they felt, I decided to shed a few pounds and keep the comfort.

+1 \\;\\\\\\; I can't belive the quality of leather I've worn over the last 35 years. \\;\\\\\\; Them pieces of leather constantly shrink over time, I don't know what causes it. \\;\\\\\\;

Must be something with old leather. I got one from the 80s that shrunk pretty good too.
Whats up with that?

Better keep the old one. Go look at new ones, and you will see they are made in China. Not good.[:'(]
