Default Stealing your stuff or even whole bike!?!?!

I haven't gone on many long overnight bike trips but have a few planned this summer, both with camping and motel type overnight stays.&nbsp\\; My question to everyone is, how do you prevent epople stealing stuff such as accessories or even bigger components off of your bike when in the tent or motel?&nbsp\\; I guess this goes even further, how do u prevent someone from just picking up the bike and putting it ina&nbsp\\; pickup bed with a couple of guys and stealing it?&nbsp\\; Yes I know someo of you guys and gals wouldn't have that problem cause you are "harcore biker folk" but still any ideas?

I have lojack.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; If they take the bike with lojack equipped, good chance you will get it back.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; To keep everyone's hands off your bike completely, make sure to give everyone a mean look and snarl at them when you park it.

I heard if you get a bike cover that says Honda on it they wont "F." with your bike.
In all reality if someone wants your bike they will have it. Get yourself some good insurance so you will have a better piece of mind. Its all replaceable. Use some common sense on the stuff that can be taken off like bags and quick release stuff, out of site is out of mind.

I guess it's like anything else.&nbsp\\; If someone wants to take it bad enough there aint no way to stop it.&nbsp\\; Even with Lojack, unless the beacon is welded shut in the frame they will find it. Also they will have that bike apart for parts so fast you will not even have the chance to blink three times.

I use a Xena disc lock with motion sensor alarm.&nbsp\\; Run a bright orange cord up the the grip so people notice it.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Might convince a novice to leave mine alone and go down the road to find an easier target.

I have thought the same thing. Am looking at an alarm with motion and a pager. When you stay at motels try and stay with the ones that have cameras or surveillance systems.

Bike Friendly?&nbsp\\; What does that mean?&nbsp\\; Do you get to park your bike in your room just like having your dog in the room at a Pet friendly place?

I usually travel with another rider. We park at the entrance to the hotel and make nice with the night clerk. We also chain the bikes together frame to frame and we both use vanilla bike covers. No problems so far.
