Default An addiction?

I have wanted a HD for years. I started off with a crotch rocket in 2001 and sold it last spring to put the money towards a '06 Softail Deuce that I purchased in September '05. Everyone kept telling me that I was going to spend thousands in chrome, etc. I told them that I only wanted an exhaust and some different pegs. Well, $1300+ later, I find myself totally engulfed in Harley. I keep finding more and more things that I want to do with my bike and more accessories (clothing, riding gear, etc.) that I want!!! My girlfriend and I have been dating for about 2 1/2 years now, she loves my bike and riding with me, but is really wanting to get a ring. I want to buy her a ring, but, damn it I really think I am addicted to my bike and accessorizing it. Just thought I would share my story...any other stories like this? Is there a Harley Davidson Anonymous

You’re not alone.

Hello…my name is Vern and I’m addicted to chrome and pretty much all Harley accessories.

Sooner or later she is going to figure out that her "ring money" is all being spent on my bike!

That will be an UGLY day. Just hang your head and let her rant when that day does come. Then console yourself and buy more chrome.

You are not ready to become engaged, let alone MARRIED.

Don't go into debt and buy the two of you, "everything" you want.

Ya gotta choose buddy.

Life isn't fair.[&:]

PhilM, I think I need to follow your advice, although the devil sitting on my right shoulder says - spend money on Chrome!

Hey Woody! If you're serious about this girl, buy the darn ring and make her happy for a while. She just might be the best friend you'll have and if you need a friend during HD withdrawls she can make the differance to keep you going. I look back at the thousands of dollars iIve spent on Harleys and sometimes I think I really have made my wife of 33 years take a back seat to my addiction and she deserves more than she has. Memories are what life is made of, and regrets can bring a good man down!
