I'm curious how many people out there use there Harley as a daily commuter either because of the cost gas or was doing it before gas prices got crazy. How many miles do you average a year?

Here in the northeast we do not have 12 month riding like some others enjoy but I'm on a bike just about every day unless the weather is terrible or I have too many things to carry conveniently. I'm about 45 miles back and forth to the office and do have appointments out of the offcie quite regularly. That riding plus weekend jaunts, some bar hopping a road trip or two along with a few events and I get about 15,000 miles in per year.

Here in Florida, I can ride year round. At 18 months the bikes got 37K on it. It's 80 miles round trip for work. I did 24K last year but wasn't riding it every day at first. Now I am, I expect close to 30K this year.

When I get mine (Street Glide or Fat Bob) I will use it to comute .I have a 60 mile round trip to work.

WOW Jehu , you have had a ton of bikes. How dose the Fat Bob stack up against them?

I have a friend with an Ultra that has over 20K on it and ita an 08 so he rides a lot . He test rode a Fat Bob and liked it a lot.

I use it to commute unless it is raining. It is 37 miles each way. Main reason is because with the hours I work and family obligations, I don't get to ride much anymore. And I get an hour lunch so I can slip out for a quick ride then. Second reason is because I can leave the gas-guzzling F-150 in the driveway.

liveing in the midwest we get maybe 6 to 7 months of rideing. if we get lucky so i ride as much as i can back and fouth to both jobs.as many trips on the weekends and holidays as i can. and vacation so i shoot for 10 to 12000 miles a year if the weather holds.and in the winter we hit a good streak i'm on it.

My commute is 14 miles round trip...just barely enough to get the bike warmed up...LOL. However, living in Kansas, you never know when the weather is gonna turn nasty, so unless there's lighting with rain pouring down, or ice on the roads, I try to ride everyday. I've had my 07 RKC since May of '07 and it has 11800 miles on it.

Ride every day from the time salt is washed off the roads till they start using it again..35 years, so yup long before the gas issue.. I don't honestly know what my custom gets for gas milage.. and seriously don't care, I keep it tuned and runnen healthy so it is what it is.... I end up with my cage bein 10 years old with 10,000 miles or less.. Cuz they mostly just sit for the better part of every year..

I ride mine everday weather permitting. Commute is about 50 miles round trip. Saves gas and is fun too.
Sometimes to work and back are the only riding I have time for.
