Default Get sleepy when riding with helmet?

Hi Folks,
Just a quick question.
NH is a "No Helmet Law" state.....thus I don't wear a helmet unless it is raining.
The sole purpose is to be able to wear a shield.
This summer we have gotten a lot of rain.
My buddy and I have notice the same thing.
We both feel sleepy after an hour or so with the shield.
Does anyone else get this ?
Could it be the wind coming under the shield.
Thanks for any input
Al

Maybe the other way around?
It's more likely the friggin wind slapping you in the face without the shield that keeps you awake.

I thought about that but I have a RG with good wind coverage and his RK has a very high
windshield.

It's probably just keeping your head warmer. I always get sleepier when I am warmer and wide awake if I am cold.

I'm not too far from you being a masshole but we have to wear helmets and this morning it was 57 degrees so I had a full face on and it was a still a little nippy.

I rarely wear a helmet as well, but when I do, I wear a 3/4 helmet and I do get sleepy. I think the reason I get sleepy is that wind noise is decreased and the bottom of the helmet fits perfectly on the collar of jacket, so it has the same effect as have my head layed against the back of a recliner. It's just very relaxing. All that being said, I still prefer the feeling of not wearing one.

Maybe its the way things sounds with a helmet on. Lots of studies show that certain constant sounds put you in like, a trance.

Maybe if if fits real snug, you are getting oxygen deprived and yawning. Try opening the face cover some see see if that helps.

Yeah, it might just be the muted white noise. Kinda like how the ventilation at work makes me sleepy. Or maybe it's just work that dies it

It's the carbon monoxide getting up in your helmet making you sleepy.
