ARAI SZ Ram III most comfortable helmet I have ever had. Great ventilation system, in the summer it is cooler with the helmet on than without. The face sheild is distortion free and they offer that in a tinted version. They run abour $350.

I've been wearing a Suomy Nomad 3/4 for the last 6 months. This helmet is the equal of a Shoei or Arai in quality and is only $150. Great vetilation with the shield down and as quiet a helmet as you will find. It's got deep ear pockets for speakers.

good fit, too much wind noise. Got it on sale for only $100, but probably would not recommend it.

best helmet
Without a doubt Arai helmets are unsurpassed in comfort, light weight, & quality of materials & construction. They are not cheap , but you get what you pay for. A lot of those brands made in China & other places are garbage ! But its your head.

I don't know any way to find out if you like the fit of a helmet other than trying it on. Human heads come in many different shapes. Round, oval, egg, etc. The internal shape of helmets varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Price is no guarantee for fit or effectiveness.
The June 2005 issuse of Motorcyclist magazine found that an inexpensive helmet (Z1R $89) transferred 152Gs to the headform vs. 211 Gs of the Snell approved $700 Scorpion EXO-700 helmet. I own a Shoei Snell approved helmet but do not wear it anymore. After reading about how Snell arrives at their standards I personally would not own another Snell approved helmet. I think the European standards are much better than Snell or DOT.
I have a Nolan Ncom, I like it, but I have an oval noggin. You might hate it. I've tried on alot of helmets and most of them I didn't like.

BTW, the Nolan N42 Ncom, has a retractable sunshield
and some nifty communications add ons. I bought if primarily
for winter commutes, 35 miles one way, that transitioned
from day to dark, so I wouldn't have to stop and change
glasses.
