Did you sign a contract that specified what the bike was? If you gave them no money they have no contract with you. They might be just laid back but every contractural agreement must have 3 parts
1. offer
2. acceptance
3. consideration (some form of money must be given)
This should be written to protect both parties.

I had to put down a $500.00 deposit to have the serial # of the bike I wanted put on a contract. If you have a contract with the bike you want, then I would think that you are good to go...............

When is the bike supposed to be due? And what model are you getting?
It could be that they are getting several of the same bike (and possibly color), so a deposit isn't necessary by their standards. I had that with my 03 Lowrider, they had several black ones in the back. I ended up putting a $50 deposit down anyway though (it was my third bike from them, so they weren't too concerned about me backing out).
If it's due soon, I would start hounding her (kindof the 'are we there yet? are we there yet?') routine a day or two before it is scheduled to arrive.

Most likely, each dealer, and even each salesman, is different in this area. If the guy I go to made promises to me I wouldn't be worried at all. But then again, my guy lets me borrow bikes for entire weekends and calls them 'test rides.'
I can't guarantee you of your dealers intentions but I'd have to say the odds are in your favor.

If your dealer knows you on a first name basis then you can probably trust that they will hold a bike for you. If they don't know you, you didn't put any money down, and they didn't get your name & phone number, then your probably not going to get the bike you want. ( Unless you happen to be the first one at the dealer when they get the bike)

Hummmm,..... I had to put down $1,000 to order my bike, and I got a written quote of what my price will be upon arrival. But I now have peace of mind that noone else will get my bike. Now,... the difficult part is waiting until May, 15th.
