Since you live in Canada, you probably didn't post this about Houston.
"Conchorebel,
I worked at a hospital in Houston for a while. We called motorcycle riders "parts"donors. They usually had head injuries that were so severe that they were put on life support and their organs were harvested."

I tried to post this but I'm too lazy to register for the site. Someone else wanna post it?
"Last year, 5,154 motorcyclists died, up 6 percent from a year earlier..."
And what percent did the total amount of motorcycles on the road go up?
"More people are riding motorcycles because their mileage is so much better. More middle-aged and older men are resuming riding motorcycles as they did when they were younger."
So, again we see meaningless statistic sprouted in the media to slant the view in th way the writer wants. the 6% statistic is meaningless without reference to the percentage per total bikes on the road.
If the total number of bikes on the road went up 6%, the the rate of accidents has not gone up at all. If the total number of bikes has grown by more than 6%, the rate of accidents has gone down.
Simple math, figure it out.
