My take-away from the article is that, similar to rider demands for annual driver testing of cagers over the age of 80, riders over the age of 40 need to be annually tested since they account for the majority of motorcycle deaths.
Yeah, well, it all depends on who interpret the numbers. In my 35 some odd year of riding, I've seen helmet laws come and go many times. Every time the laws are repealed, the anti-motorcycle legislators always cry how much the deaths go up. The AMA (American Motorcycle Association) will use the same numbers to prove the opposite. When the laws are reinstated, the opposite is true.
Personally, I don't care which way it is. I wear a helmet and always will. I think those that don't are making a very questionable choice and that's putting it about as politically correct as I can. Having said that, I'll argue their right to make that decision till the day I die. I think the government has better things to do than continually try to protect us from ourselves.
