Default HDF Member Needs Our HELP!!!

Not your typical Gumby post, folks.
Palmettosunshine, needs a little help. He has a post: #20
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/general-harley-davidson-chat/281469-myrtle-beach-fall-rally.html

He is looking for a stock take off set of pipes for an 05 Dyna Super Glide Custom.
I'm putting in calls to 3 indys I know up here,to see if we can locate some.

IF you know of ANY dealers or indy's in your area, preferably closer to Myrtle Beach than we are up here, PLEASE check to see.
He is getting snagged up in their 'new' noise ordnance BS, and LIVES there and rides to work. Well, he can't right now, thus the NEED for stock pipes.

Feel FREE to PM me, or Palmettosunshine https://www.hdforums.com/forum/members/57362-palmettosunshine.html with ANY leads.
THANKS, folks. Hope HDF can help him out. I know I would appreciate it, if it happened to me. I think he posted it is a $500 fine, but it is in his post.

I THINK I have a stock set of 06 Superglide pipes. I dont know if those would fit, if I can find them. The frame is different on 06's, first year of the new frames I think. But I will always help someone when I can. Let me know if I can help.

I have a complete set of stock pipes for a 2001 superglide TSport plus a set of SE slipons. I don't think they made any engine or frame changes from 01 to 05 so they would probably fit.

Just a thought, would he be able to change the baffels for some quieter ones?

HOLY COW! You guys are awesome. Gumpmeister, I never expected this. Thank you.

I talked to the cops about baffles or silencers and they seemed fairly certain that I couldn't reduce the db level enough to be legal. I pegged 100 decibels on the meter, a whopping 13 over the limit. Plus, if I have the factory exhaust, that has not been modified in any way, they can't cite me for illegal or loud pipes per the ordinance.

I really hate the thought of replacing my V&H Big Radius pipes with the stock exhaust. Not only do I love the way it sounds but also the way it looks on the bike. I get comments and compliments on it almost every time I ride. However, I hate the thought of not being able to ride my baby to work even more. Being an almost life long resident of SC I know you can't fight the law here and win. I don't have to like it, I just have to deal with it for the time being.

I think in the long run, things will even out here and the locals especially will eventually get a break but I can't afford any $500 tickets in the meantime. Oh, and repeat offenders will have their bike impounded. THAT would almost certainly earn me some time spent in the local hoosgaw. Don't think I could stand by and watch them trailer my ride or worse, hook it up to some wrecker.

Thanks to everyone that has responded. I really appreciate all comments and suggestions.

Gumpmeister, you are the best!
