Trolls.....
just for ****s & giggles, I am not sure what exactly a "troll" is.
Can sone one coment on it so that the rest of us know what to stay away from? or not to feed into.
Thanks for the information..

Kinda the same thought I had. A Troll can be many things on the Internet. Let's say a guy from the Goldwing forum comes over there for the sole purpose of making fun of Harleys and starting arguments. He would be a Troll. A guy with one post at HDF selling Chinese made Nike shoes would be a Troll. If you've been an active member here for over a week I would think that you may have run into one or two.
A troll is anyone on this board who is trying to manipulate the conversation into an argument solely for the purpose of disruption of this community. They often post seemingly innoculous questions or comments that inflame the intrinsic passions of Harley enthusiasts. For example..."I just bought my first harley after years of metrics. I am having nothing but trouble with it and my stealer refuses to address any of my issues. Are these things really this bad? How do you put up with this Crap?"
I got one of these kinds of questions too!! Whats a RUB....at least thats what I think they were saying? I've seen this in a few posts and I've waited to see if I could figure it out from responses, but not getting it apparently!
Not always true of course...

The political discussion area is then loaded with trolls if it were only about manipulation.
Trolls typically do not have very large posting numbers and range from 1-25. They are not of the HDF community.
Trolls typically throw out questions that try to sell something: "Does anyone know of a good GPS unit?" because they are themselves in an area that sells these units.
Trolls do offer inflammatory statements and are never heard from again. They'll stir the pot.
Trolls live under bridges and they'll grab your legs as you pass overhead.
