Default should i ride to work or how can i ride more

want to ride more, but sometimes difficult to do it.

first off, i don't drink if i ride, and don't ride if i have been drinking.
second, my wife does not ride with me.

during the work week, when i get home, i might ride for fun, or might do errands - as long as i can fit it on the bike. but if i am going out with wife or for some drinks, then i use the cage.

during the weekend, same kind of thing.

both times depends on what other things need to be done.

so where can i put in more riding time.

was thinking about riding to work, but downtown chicago is costly and almost not fun to ride in. to lower any of the costs for train parking etc, you have to do it on a monthly basis creating the situation of doing one or the other.

just need to get another job where i could ride i guess.

Wife "does not" ride with you or "will not" ride with you? If you can get her on the bike it can be a great way to enjoy something together.

Why does your wife not ride with you? It took my wife a long time, but now she loves it. I sure wouldn't think riding into downtown Chicago would be much fun.

I'd just quit your job and hit the road. Obama will be sending you money before too long anyway.

At first the wife didn't want to ride, but then she suggested going out to dinner and taking the scoot. We have been doing this for the past 4 months or so and now she is venturing out and taking some longer rides to explore some small towns near us.

She enjoys it and it's just the two of us.

Guess I'm one of those strange people.. My bike is my normal mode of transportation wherever I go, from the time the salt gets washed off in the spring till they start usen it in late fall... Been like that for the 35+ years in the saddle.. My Harleys have never really ever been "Toys" or "Recreational Vehicles" I do love ta do my own customizing and maken my bikes personal to me.. But they have been my main choice fer transportation since I started riding....To anywhere..

mark10 this is easy, stop drinking . You don't have to drink to have a good time . You could end up like billy lane. Just tell the wife to get on ,when the weather lets you. If you use drinking as any part of not rideing, thats your fault.

If you like to ride, do it, Like Pastor Tom I too ride from the time the salt is washed off the streets until its back on in late fall early winter, Regardless of the temps. My wife didn't like to ride at first but because I take the bike everywhere we go she has gotten use to it and now enjoys it. She rode with me to do the Blue ridge in May and to Yellowstone in August. Close to 7000 miles. As for the drinking part you don't need to drink to ride, so stop looking for an excuse not to ride and get out and do it. Just my .02
