Default How are the other bikes to ride?

Wassup fellow Dyna riders. New here to the forums I have a 2000 FXDS. This is my first Harley (graduated from rice)and was wondering besides the cruisers how the other models handled and felt. I picked the dyna because I loved the way they look. Are the softails a different ride?

Yep they ride different, good choice coming from a ricer! Dyna's are good for cornering, and all around bike! Easy to whip around compared the the touring and softails!

I came over from Brit bikes and a couple of Old Wings; the FXDXT was the only one for me after I rented one for a day (On the island of St Martin; what a day!!!). As I have some good friends in the industry; I've ridden everything from Aprilia Tuono to Yamaha V-Max, as well as all of the recent HD's and I'm keeping mine.

I have an 09 RKC. It rides like a dream, especially out on the open road.

Check with your dealer and if they have an test ride day, take a few models out for a ride. Then you will have the chance to compare different models. My dealer has the open house, like twice a year. Free food and all models to test ride.

Rode a VTX1300 that belonged to a girl I was dating. It felt really unballanced and wallowed a lot. I thought she had some loose spokes or something. Nope turned out to be just the way the bike was (as compared to my Road King that is). Have ridden many other Japanese bikes, but this is the first one that did that to me.

My Road King Standard is easier to ride than my Sportster. The extra weight is felt only when walking it around. Best riding thing I've ever been on. Corners great in town and on the highway. It even likes the twisties and has plenty of clearance, too, for my moderate riding style.
