Default gear driven cams

have an 02 roadking(53,000 miles)cam chain and adj.replc at 35,000 , want to install gear drive cams,was told by a guy not to do it, somthing about weak/loose end play allowing the gears to bind up....any truth to this ???

Why you so happy?

You need to check the crank runout. I went gear drive on my 05 a couple of years ago after finding pieces of tensioner material in the oil filter. I had less than 15K miles on it at the time.

I have no regrets and would do it again.

RKRon gave ya the answer. IF your crank run out is good, NO PROBS. Some ppl think they are a li'l noisy.
BUT not as noisy as when the chain tensioner takes a chit, and then the 'dead silence' as you coast to a stop.

Had mine done at 40,000. No regrets.

gear drive cam's are the only way to go. i love them no worry no problem's they are worth every cent.

My 02 Road King has gear drive, and I have no complaints
