Default Possible Trade

I was at the local dealer today and they had a used '07 Street Glide. Vivid Black, no cruise, and pretty much stock except for a blacked out front end.
It had about 13,000 miles on it.
Was chatting with the salesman and asked if he would trade straight across for my '08 deluxe. He looked at some numbers and said he would speak with the owner tomorrow and see what he could do.
If I made the trade, I would put all of the stock parts on the Deluxe and try to sell the extras on here or craigslist.

I looked a KBB and the prices are withing $400 of each other on trade and retail between the two bikes.

Would this be a fair trade for me if he was willing to make the deal, or should I try to get a little more out of it?

The reason I'm thinking about trading is I've ridden alot more than I thought I would and the extra storage space would come in handy on trips.

My .02, you might want to check with some of the guys in the Touring Forum on that '07 SG...friend of mine bought one same time I got my '07 Train, first year for the 96" & 6 speeds...my Train is great, no problem...but my friend and about everyone else I know said the SG that year had the chatter in 5th gear that drove them crazy, and they were always shifting between gears at 55-60mph...H-D came out with a (don't quote me here) Isolated Dampening System ?? costing about $300 that took care of the problem, and engineered the system into the later models...like I said, you may want to run it past the guys in the other forum, who I'm sure know more about it than me, and at least test ride the one you're looking at...btw, my friend wasn't happy till he sold his...good luck to ya...

that 5th gear whine was exaggerated..my buddies 07 has it but doesn't bother him at all. I rode his scoot and the whine sounds the same as on my 06 rkc fourth gear whine..nothing to worry a bout

I rode my buddy's SG a number of times...5th gear sounded like someone threw a box of rocks in a dryer...and I'm not exaggerating...and like I said, got my Train, and a few other friends got a Softail Custom, a Super Glide, and a Heritage the same time...I rode them all, and only the SG made the noise...just sayin' be careful, and check it before you buy...

Wine, Rocks Etc.. You will love it!! having tunes, storage and a much smoother ride. Owned several soft tails, would not go back, at least not for long rides!! Found out long ago nothing soft about a softail!
