Renting harleys in vegas
Hey guys. Dont post a lot but lurk here all the time. I was just wondering if any of you guys have rented bikes from eagle rider in vegas. Going there in august and was thinking about renting harleys and riding to lake mead for a day. If you have i was just wondering how the experiance was. Thanks jd.

Would be definitely worth it. I wouldn't stop at Lake Mead, I'd ride as far as I could go and still get back in time. I haven't done it because I haven't been back to Vegas but definitely have plans to do something similar when I do go back. There are a lot of places there that rent all kinds of bikes. Google is your friend.

I just did a Fly & Ride to Las Vegas last month and I rented my bike from Henderson through the Fly & Ride program. You need to book 3 weeks ahead and for at least 3 consecutive days. I had a wonderful trip. Look at my post under Road Trips.

I just did a rental in June of last year. Me and buddy were out there on business for a week.
I rented through Las Vegas HD on Eastern Ave. The rental was pretty easy and I did it over the phone. Also on the Las Vegas HD site they offer some ideas for rides to take.
My .02 for what its worth. If you're going in August don't bother with Lake Mead/Hoover Dam. We were going to take the trip but we went to Mt Charleston instead. Honest to god it was about 30 degrees cooler up there. The ride is pretty nice if you make a loop out of it, you can go from 95 to 157 to 158 to 156. The elevation will be up to and over 10,000 ft. It's some nice mountain riding.

RE: Renting an HD in Vegas
I'm with X_Bones Eric on this one. Having gone to high school in Vegas I can whole-heartedly agree that Mt. Charleston would be the better of the two rides. But hey, why not do both?
