JULIAN is a small town about 30 miles out in the mountains east of san diego used to be a mining town now famous for apple pie and snow a few days in the winter just a nice ride up there and always lots of bikes on weekends..

We have a few places like that in west Texas. The best example of that is a 120 mile stretch that ends in a town with just two gas stations and then another 100 miles till the next stop or the 120 miles back. The last time we got there, they only had premium. Which is great but seeing the pump handles covered in bags from a distance had me worried that we were going to be in town till the truck showed up with gas.

I used to live in Ramona but don't live there any more (thank God). I do miss In & Out Burger though. Anyway does that bakery (Dudleys I think) still exist in Santa Ysabel? The one that makes great jalapeno-cheese bread? Damn I miss that and well of course Glamis also but not much else. ex-wife, taxes etc etc etc etc.....
Sorry to steal the post direction but this Julian post reminded me of the old days in SoCal.
Ok now back to no gas in Julian.......
