Clothing strengths
Anyone see this before?
I got into some researching and came across textile and leather abrasion ratings.

Just thought I would pass along some information for those who may be interested in reading it.

I went to that site once, left as soon as I read anyone can update so called "facts" to be held as gospel. I would take anything I read there with a grain of salt. Some may be true, but how do you know which is which?

IMO There is too much difference between the types and quality of materials and gear to make a general distinction. Also there are advantages and disadvantages to each depending on the situation.
Unfortunately you have to wait until after the accident to determine if your gear was adequate or what type of gear you should have been wearing.
Bystander 1: "Did you that Biker go off the side of the bridge"?
Bystander 2: "Was he wearing a helmet"?
Squid: "ATGATT" that's my motto."
Biker: "Who wears a life jacket when riding a motorcycle"?
RUB: "I paid $999.00 for this one, it has GPS, SONAR, LORAN, EPIRB and Blutooth"

I have cordura chaps that I unfortunately "road tested". I can tell you that after my close encounter I had to throw out my helmet, my jacket, my gloves and my boots due to severe abrasions and rips. The chaps showed no wear and tear and I am still using the same pair today. By the way they are also water proof so no issue getting caught in an occasional rain shower having soaked pant legs.

Leather appears to be the best all around for price and weight.
Cordura is second with price.
Kevlar is top but can be pricey.
