No motel NEAR the track. it's pretty country right there. Down in Rockingham proper there are motels and such. About 30 min-45min ride from the strip

SC Longhair is right, it is VERY country near the track. Your best bet is to do a search on hotels in Rockingham or in Southern Pines. Southern Pines is right on Routes 1/15/501 and about a 30-40 minute ride to the track, and has a much better selection of hotels. I can't comment on how pricey they are, I only work in and around Southern Pines. If you'd like me to check, shoot me a message and I'll check around the one's in Southern Pines.

Just a quick edit: Southern Pines is a much better location to stay IMHO. Nicer Restaurants, shopping in Pinehurst, etc. Nothing against Rockingham mind you, just sayin'.

I was just up that way (southern pines, pinehurst) saturday. First time and thought it was a pretty nice area. Went to an HD dealer in pinehurst. I'd search southern pines for a place to stay.
