Security Alarm
Help.
I bought my Heritage Classic in January, but a couple of weeks ago was the first time it stayed outside of my garage at a hotel. Man, I was worried about going to sleep with just the blinking light security system on it. I want some noise.
Who's got some info on Security Systems? Harley stock or other? What do you recommend?

I added the H-D alarm siren and I like it. I often just set the alarm with the remote and walk away.
I work at a car dealership and park on our lot, set the alarm and walk away. I don't lock the ign at work or Walmart etc..
I maybe too reliant on the alarm at times but it has a motion sensor and an internal battery backup that will keep the alarm going
even if the cycle battery is disconnected. I have it set for manual arming only. I didn't buy the available pager so when my wife and I
traveled to the middle of our state and stayed at a motel I parked it on our motel room patio, locked all locks and set the alarm.
Our room was on the other side of the motel from the parking lot so I found a way to drive around on the grass and park on our patio.
Yes I was a little nervous and alot less nevous than when it was parked on the 'blind' side.
Hope this helps!

For the small cost, add the pager when you get the siren. It is worth it. You will sleep much better knowing the status of the bike. Just curious; did you lock it to an immovable object, use a disk lock or cover it? I've heard that the trick to keeping the bike safe is to just add layers of security for the thief to discourage him. One of the best layers is coming out when the pager goes off w/ a surefire flashlight and the large caliber firearm of your choice though!
YEp...definitely get the pager. This way you'll know whats going on and can respond "appropriately"....I have the factory sec alarm w/ remote, siren and pager. Its pretty good. You can tell the difference btwn a bump or jostle and if someone tries to get your ride upright. Definitely worth the money.
Mike in Oregon, I highly recomend the factory alarm and siren for piece of mind.
I don't have a lage caliber firearm[sm=shootshoot.gif] so I did not get the pager system.
