I used the ring on the break clevis pin.

Key ring didn't work so well for me as it almost wore through the eyelet. Switched to a small strap of leather and it seems fine now.

Mine came with the key ring thing and I attached it to the forward controls. You can go to the hardware store by the key machine and they have all different kinds just get a heavy duty one

If I remember right I used a small zip tie through the key ring.
