cutting my quiet baffles

cutting my quiet baffles
I have the quiet baffles in my V&H BSS on my night train. The tone is good, but they were a little too quiet for my taste. I took them out & removed the wrapping which helped a little without changing the tone. But, they are still not at the sound I was shooting for. I am thinking of cutting the flat solid disk that is in front of the baffles now & trying that. Anybody done this? I am thinking with the tapering in the baffle, I will still get some back preasure on the exhaust. Of course if I cut the plate & don't like it I am probably going to have to start over with a different baffle setup, probably go with big city thunder.

Yeah, give it some time if you can. My quiet baffles will set off car alarms, with a little help from my right hand. Didn't use to do that, not that I'm sad.
