I am looking to build data to determine if a frame mounted fairing is better to keep you on your wheels vs a batwing or fork mounted fairing if you hit a deer.
Just tell me your bike, and which fairing u have. Dont have to be a Harley,
If you have no fairing you dont have to tell me anything, unless you want to share something. Please tell me if you know if you hit the center of the deer or what.
I "think" a frame mounted (like a tour glide) would help you keep upright longer due to some protection from the center mass of the deer not influencing the handle bar direction as much as a batwing or fairing mounted fairing. I "think" the batwing style would instantly steer one direction or the other from the impact.

seems more are injured trying to avoid hitting the deer by swerving and loosing control. if you can brake and hold the bike straight heading for the deer when you hit it you have a better chance of being ok.

I agree with that and also think the size of the bike has alot to do with it. If I was going to hit one on a 250 I think jumping off may be the way to go. :lol

Well the deer HIT me, Blind sided me from left side over shoulder. Broke my shoulder blade, knocked me out, broke my hand and hyper extended my knee. But I am still verticle and above the green. Bike '07 Sportster Custom was totalled, bent frame, quick release windshield bent to hell, tank dented, heads cracked. I had an engine guard, highway pegs, sundowner seat and other extras.
I really don't think a fairing would have helped.
