Default Screamin eagle slipons

I went to the dealer yesterday to take a ride on an 06 heritage softail with screamin eagle II's to see how I liked the sound.
I had an 05 1200 sportster with the regular screamin eagles and really liked the sound.
Im taking delivery of a 2010 heritage softail this coming friday and I would like to eventually change out the stock mufflers for something a little louder but not overly loud.
One this test ride on the 06 I really liked the sound of the mufflers, just what im looking for.
When I got back I talked to he parts guy about how much they cost.
He told me they didnt make them anymore. I said I know they dont make the first series but now they make the II"s, how much are they?
He said agin they dont make them, you need some rush or vance and hines.
Well today I go on harleys site and go to accessiores and low and behold they have screamin eagle II slipons listed with part number and price for the 2010 heritage softail.
So why does the parts guy, who has been in parts for many years say they dont make them anymore?

The 06 SE II are not made anymore. the epa came down on them and they had to quiet them down, the new SE II's are just 2-4 db above stock and don't have the same sound, maybe that was what he was trying to tell you

He may have been talking about the older ones with removable baffels. When I bought mine from ebay I made sure they were the ones with removable baffels.

I have SEII on my 05 Fatboy. They were discontinued 2 years ago when I bought them.
Find the part number and do an internet search. I got mine from a dealer that had a load of them.
They are still out there I am sure.

True so true! The new ones are a wast of money. If you can deal with it stock pipes get about as loud as the new SE II's in about a year of riding. You can pick up some nice Rush S/O for cheaper and they sound deeper. Just my 2 cents...

Check out Supertrapp or Kerker slip ons. I have Screamin Eagle slip ons on my Road King. These were made by Supertrapp for HD, but are still being manufactured under the Supertrapp logo. I'm pretty sure the Supertrapp SE slip ons were the original Screamin Eagle and the Kerker slip ons were the screamin eagle II's.

I needed end caps for my slip ons, and bought current Supertrapp endcaps.

Oops, sorry. I guess these are just the touring model slip ons. Although I think Supertrapp did make some slip ons for softails under the screamin eagle brand a few years back. Just don't know if they are the ones you are referencing.

Get the D&D FatCat exhaust. Makes some serious HP and sounds good.
