Advertising is ok, but when it impairs the function of a site, it has to go. Advertisers have to learn that their INVASIVE use of OUR PC resources leads only to their noxious ads being removed.
I installed Firefox ADBlock Plus and Firefox AD Killer and the forum is now fast as a greased thunderbolt.

Firefox rocks over IE here at HDF, you've got it right, I only block the pop ups and it's still very fast with 10 megabites on cable for me!!! Just ask Mikeeeeeeee he turned me onto FF and I've never looked back!!!

On the flipside our sponsors funds do keep the place running here for your enjoyment, so even if you block them, patronize them when you can.

Man I just downloaded Fire fox and what a difference. I had no idea it was so much faster than IE. Thanks for the post, it has brought new life back to my old computer.

 

Just to be clear on the subject, I know sponsors are important and that most sites like this would be impossible without them.
But it's all part of an agreement: sponsors are ok, even welcome, but sponsoring shouldn't make the site unusable, or I will filter them.
