Default Nightster information please..........

Im fairly new with Harley product lines and ride a 2001 Sporster 883 which is my first Harley. I am pleased with the overall preformance but would like to upgrade. Can I get some information as to the difference between a stock Sportster 1200 and a Nightster as I have read many riders prefere. Help here would be appreciated.

The Nightster is a 1200 Low with less chrome, a solo seat, no rear pegs, and a cool license plate holder.

Besides the dark style the difference is the ride height.
The foot pegs (and exhaust) touch the pavement very, yes very, easily.
The lower frame under the engine is an inch or more closer to the ground that a regular sportster, hence your lower ride height (Avoid speed bumps!)
Suspension travel is short and also soft so the Nightster does not like bumps as it will bottom its suspension.
However this suspension short coming can be addressed with some money and is a large topic in the forum.
The N is also not set up as a two-up bike. One loses the style on a N if it is adapted to two-up with longer shocks and a seat.
Motor performance is the same.
Fuel capacity is smaller 3.3 gallon on a N vs. 4.5 gallon on standard sportsters.
Mine is a great.

I think they covered everything.
They look like 2 completely different models.
I love my nightster

You would be better off posting this question in the Sportster section.

I forgot about the smaller tank. You can only go about 120 miles between fillups.

Get a 1200 kit for your 883 and make it into a Nightster. You'd be faster and able to corner better.

Nightsters look badazz. If they were 20% bigger, you would see a Nightster instead of the Night Train in my signature block.

Yup. I feel like a circus bear on a tiny bike every time I ride my wife's Nightster.
