Default Detachable Backrest/Luggage Rack Ratings

Can anyone tell me how much weight the rack is rated for? I read in another thread it was only like 10 lbs? Man that can't be right, can it? When I pack my Full Dresser Bag for a week I know it is close to 50 lbs, and have ridden many miles with it AND a soft sided cooler strapped on.

Any information would be appreciated.

Hmmm...if I remember the small rack on the back of the Deluxe says 7 or 10 lbs?
The Deluxe saddlebags also said 7 lbs and the touring pack on the detachable solo setup says 25 lb...

So 10 lb might be right.

Well, I know the saddle bags are rated for 15 lbs on my Road King. I just can't imagine how the heck you could pack a t-bag for any kinda real trip and not go over 10 lbs on the luggage rack.

I recently installed a luggage rack and I peeled off the sticker that stated it was only rated for 10 lbs. When I asked the same question, someone stated that that was probably a disclaimer.

I had approximately 35 - 40 lbs loaded on my luggage rack and it didn't budge.

Here's some pics of my setup. Hope this helps...

mine says 10 pounds--- guess that weight is resting on four bolts on the fender.....when they rate it at ten and you have a problem after over loading and attempt to sue HD, they can point to their warning! all those little stickers are to protect themselves from lawsuits!
