ZUMO 550 - General Question
Good Day.
I'm looking to purchase a ZUMO 550 GPC for my scooter. In searching the internet;
I finding a price range from $550 through $1000.
I've had to save over a considerable period in order to put the funds together.
My questions is this:
What is giving one retailer the opportunity to sell his product $500 less than another retailer?
Is one supplier selling a "bare bones" unit with nothing other than the unit in the box and another selling the unit with attachments, batteries, etc?
I know the expression "buyer be ware"; so if any of you has any recommendations regarding retailers or better still what questions to ask the retailer selling the "cheapest" unit; I would gladly accept your advice.

Might ask the seller if it has a US warranty. Not sure about GPs's but know in the past, cameras and stereos were sold cheap but with a GRAY markey warranty, meaning, not good in the US, only overseas

Go to www.zumoforums.com. Great bunch of people and will answer your questions about the Zumo. Beware of some of the dealers selling out of New York. They quote a low price, but once ordered, call back to sell extras. If you do not bite, you will receive a notice that the unit has been backordered. Got mine from PC Nation. Great price quick delivery.

+1 on Shooter's comments. The 550 sold for motorcycles comes with all the goodies that you need -- some a-holes might strip them from the box to sell separately.
The Zumo forum is your friend.

I got mine 2 1/2 years ago from pcnation.com. Best price at the time. Be very careful buying stuff off the web without researching the company, lots of shady outfits out there offering bogus low prices.

+1 -- that's where I got mine a couple of years back. I frequently purchase from Amazon, not because they are necessarily less expensive (although, on occasion, they are), but primarily because they have always been quick & dependable. The little I might save somewhere else just isn't worth my time & unknown risk, IMHO.
