Hi guys thought you could tell me
anyone ever used a ABS dash. I've seen em but never considered using one. was about to buy a dash on ebay and realized it was a chromed ABS by VTWIN MANUf. Don't think I want this on my ride but thought I'd ask around .

They look good new. Don't have one, but wife's new suzuki burgman has an ABS shield that is chromed on her muffler. Other than the fact she dropped it the other day, it must be good enuff to shield heat. I know when I was cleanin the bike up, I just found out it was ABS, and the chrome is actually metal chrome. Kinda says the technology must be viable to me. Suzuki's been around a long while, and I don't think they're standards would allow something that would be detrimental to their rep, bein a major manufacturer...
But then, there is alotta chinese crap circulatin the globe too. Guess I'll have to defer to some one who may have had one a while.

nice ride
I once bought an ABS dash about 6 or 7 yrs ago. wasn't comfortable with it and bought a stock S/T dash. I'm looking to put a roadking dash on my current ride cause the 2 pieces currently never matched up well, and seem to always need adjusted. I found the ABS while I was searchin for a new 1 piece long S/T dash but its only 19 1/2 inches long. I got stretch tanks. and need 21 1/2 to get all the way to the seat. so i thought I'd use a R/K dash 18 inch and fab up a extension that would finish it off

Nope, chemical composition...
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) <----say that three times REAL fast!

apparently most people feel like schu, like your ride dude, especially like croks, black tourings still have a grip on me, thats where my current ride originated. this bike was started with the internals of my dresser after I stroked it.

The only thing I have a problem with is that cheap plastic chrome you can find on any new Honda cruiser. It's pointless to me.
Composites are kewl, and will probably be used a lot more in the future.
There is a difference between the 2.

I guess my biggest concern is the chrome plating. If I had a nickel for all the chrome I replaced in my day I could afford a respectable dash, he he. I just lost the bid I had on a roadking dash minutes ago, can't figure out if I should spend $149 on a custom chrome mirage or $85 on this ABS thing. in the pic there Identical in form and appearance, but I worry about cracking and peeling especially since I ride in Pa. and get more than I care to in cold weather.
