Some people replace the stock 17 x 4.5 wheel with an 18 x 5.5 to run either an 180 or 200 rear tire. That being said, others including myself, mount the Dunlop GT502 180/60B/17 (available only at HD dealers .. find it online for savings) using the Vulcan kit if needed for spacing. On my bike, 03 Deuce, I didn't need the kit or spacers (bought the Vulcan kit, still have it). It's a close fit, but no rubbing .. as another member mentioned "clearance is clearance". Another tire option to consider, without doing a fender kit, might be the Pirelli "Night Dragon" 180/60B/17.
