my yellow bike has an evo motor and has the enclosed belt drive primary... and the inspection cover is vented .. like others said , pull the smaller cover and stick your finger in and feel (chain or belt)---chain is oily and belt is dry
or get someone who knows to tell you..by checkn

You definitley need to have the dealer do your work.

This is a hoot! Gump, you crack me up. Is it so cold you can't pull the inspection cover and look? This is as bad as the guy that couldn't get his sig pic to get bigger. Oh, that would be me. Oops!

Have you ever worked on your bike outside in 3 inches of snow when it is 15 degrees outside and dropped a nut or screw on the ground, sometimes you cant find them until the snow melts. I have other things on this bike to do while it is cold. Like get the fairing and bags, trunk body stuff done. That I can do inside where it is warm.

in my living room there is a headlight,bucket,box of ultra trunk parts, a fairing, saddl bag rails, a fender and misc body parts....I need to finish this **** first and get it out of here before worrying about changing fluids.

I was kinda excited after I read the title of this thread. Pretty disappointing to open it up and find what it's really about.......

What's the diff? You can only occupy one at a time........unless you're my friend Bill.

Then it's only about 1/2 (so I'm told).

I did find out today that the 84 is a dry primary, dry clutch....now I will have to check the 87!
