to scavenge or not ?
how many guys use the scavenger kit? it seams to me that if you change your oil every 3k and you use synthetic it can't get so dirty that the small amount left in the lines is going to affect anything. is it worth the $ the buy the kit?

IMO, save your money. Many here have put thousands and thousands of miles on their bikes and never done a "full" oil change. Unless your oilpan is clogged with sludge or you have half you motor's metal pieces floating around in the oil, regular changes with a good oil/synthetic should be all you ever need. This stuff strikes me as a lot of the hype you see in the JC Whitney catalog and other places promising 25% better mileage by putting a magnet on your fuel line, or installing a "pressure regulator" or other worthless crap. If they all worked, we'd be getting 100 mpg with our cars.
The scavenger unit may have a place in severe use bikes, but I'm guessing for most of us, it's not needed. Just my $.02.

I change my oil and filter every 2500 miles or so and have used synthetic from the get go. To me, using a scavenger system is a waste of time and money.

Don't waste your money and your time, it's not worth it. You might think about this, how many times have you actually drained every drop of oil out of your car/truck when you changed that oil? It doesn't all come out there either.
