Designer Wyatt Fuller was was killed Monday morning after attempted take off at Hickory Regional Airport. Wyatt was a designer for many of the Harley accessories. The accident happened around 11:30 am July 24, 2006. Wyatt developed the mechanism for the quick release for tour packs and sissy bar's. His wife wanted a back rest and he preferred his bike with out one. He noticed one even ing while his wife was putting their child in a baby chair and was putting the table on it. Why could not develop a quick release with the same concept in mind as the high chair! that's a great loss to the motorcycle community...he was a great designer...several of the items in HD catalog came from his mind...like the billet air cleaner.

He was also involved several year ago in Razorback motorcycles.

I have known Wyatt personally for the last 8 or 9 years. You will never find a more all around great guy. He was so down to earth. He was funny, he was smart, he was my buddy. Yesterday was a sad sad day. But I know without a doubt, he died doing what he loved most. God Bless you Wyatt, you will be missed by so many.

That sucks. I was contemplating taking my solid discs to him to have him do some custom wheels for me.

Very low profile individual. Most of the Harley folks who live in the Hickory area don't even know he lived there.

Definitely a great loss to the Harley community.

Sad to here! he was like my favorite harley designer!

 

Very Sad! Our community just last week lost one of its members due to a freak accident. Man has been flying over 30 years as a local crop duster and regular pilot. The gentlemen lost his balance and some how fell into a swinging prop.

Some one who knew Wyatt personally told me recently that H-D used to bring new design bikes to Wyatt's shop in the middle of the night and wheel them in so no one could see them. He would fabricate and fit all the billet parts for the bike and then Harley would send someone back to pick it up (again in the middle of the night).
