I know a lot of you guys have had issues with your horn sounding like its got a sock in it.

Mine has been perfect, and currently is working fine. When riding in 110+ for a while, mine played the sock game. Almost got me kilt when I hit it and nothing happened.

Anyhow, dealer looked it over and couldn't find any loose connections. It worked find after it cooled down, and worked today (it was only 100)

Could this be just a heat related issue? Anyone else have this happen to them? I find myself hitting the horn a lot when no cars are around just to check.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

yep, my horn is possessed at least 1 out of 5 times. doesnt seem to be heat related.

Same here.

Takes about 2 tries before the sock cleans out.

Been thinking about an air horn.

If my horn broke a year ago I wouldn't know it. I don't use my horn.

 

Mine did that once. Turned out it had water in it. Its now hanging on my shop wall.

I trashed my HD horn and went with a good air horn. My wife put one on her bike from the start after hearing mine.

 

mine 06 Heritage does the same thing - actually did it in the show room before I drove it out. They said it was from the water (after being washed). Still does it from time to time - I'm contemplating just getting louder pipes.

 

13 month old Electra Glide - I can hear it about half the time. I don't use it much but I'll hit it every now and again to see if it works. Also thinking about air horn.

 

The stock horn even when working is crap. I'll be adding that air horn kit next year.

 

I went with the high output horn, now it works every time.
