Blacking out
If you're a chrome nut, you can probably just ignore this post.
Me, I like the looks of a mostly blacked-out bike, with just a few chrome highlights. To me, it makes it stand out much more than one big eye-blinding ball of chrome.
Trouble is, it's a heck of a lot easier to chrome a bike than it is to de-chrome it. Finding black parts is far more difficult. What really chaps me is that the MOCO *makes* black parts as stock for certain models, but they're not listed in the catalogs. Does anyone know of a way of finding the part numbers on these things short of spending an entire day pissing off the parts guys at the local dealer? I'm talking about things like turn signals (VRSC), guage housings (Night Train), air cleaner cover (Night Train), etc.
Some parts I know I will have to buy chromed, then have them powdercoated, but if I can just get them in black to begin with, it seems a lot easier.

Michael....
I'm right there with ya! I made friends with a local powder coater, that just happens to be an old school HD guy. He has successfully transformed everthing I have taken him, except my air horns (I didn't know there were plastic valves inside.... duh!)
I'm sure there are competent coaters in your area, b ut of you can't find one, shoot me a PM & I'll give ya contact info for the guys I use in Dallas. They receive, coat, and ship stuff all the time.....
Check out some of the pics in my gallery to see how much stuff I've had "blackened".....

I looked at your gallery. I'm a chrome nut myself but I LIKE what you did--very COOL looking and stands out from the crowd nicely.
