Default Thanks Wiley X

Riding on 95 south this morning, high speed lane about 75mph. I took a big rock (or something) direct into my left Wiley X goggle lens. Got a welt on my nose and the lens is badly cracked. No shards or glass splinters. The goggle definitely did the job.
I know the military buys the same goggle for the troops as they are pretty tough. Not sure too many other glasses or cheaper goggles would have held out. The force did snap my head back.
The thing just bearly cleared my windshield, oh well. That windshield has saved me a few times, but not today. Anyway, the lens is prescription so I'll likely be out of some cash for replacement.
But the good thing is I'm not really injured .... so thanks Wiley X

Glad you didn't get injured. That's good information about the goggles. Thanks!

Good for you. Wiley Xs were never my favorite goggles but they do the job well. Never go cheap on eye protection.

I don't wear WileyX goggles, but I love their riding line of sunglasses. I have a wide bridge and they are about the only ones that really fit my nose. I do wish Oakley would come out with something wider in the bridge though.

Good post as this has always been a concern of mine. I wear Panoptix but not sure they have the same lens impact rating as the Wiley-X does. Have been thinking about picking up a pair of the Wiley-X.

I was issued a pair of Wiley X glasses/goggles over here and have been saving them to use for riding when I get home. I like the little foamys around the eyes for wind. Plus the lenses are easily swappable and they came with both clear and tinted.

Have you tried on the Oakley "Asian Fit" glasses? I know Oakley makes almost all of their models in what they call Asian fit, which I would assume is just wider.
