Default Riders who stop to close

I was heading home from work today and I was pulling my trailer which is like an open landscaping trailer. Well I come to a stop at a red light and this dude pulls up behind me on a custom chopper and I mean he pulled up to about 2 feet away from the rear of my trailer, And apparently the person behind him wasn't paying attention and come sliding in, I seen it and pulled up as far as I could and luckily she stopped about 6 inches from his back tire. Now it's none of my business how any body else rides but damn don't be a victim of something you probably could of prevented. All I could see was this dude being shoved through the meshed rear door of my trailer like some mashed potatoes.

Too many drivers and riders do not drive or ride defensibly....out there today you have to be on guard for about anything..takes the fun out of riding sometimes....

I always give myself an out when stopping. At least 4 feet back so when the idoit behind me isn't going to stop in time I can squirt out in between lanes. When riding I always either pass or trail well behind any open trailer. A friend of mine almost diedwhen a shovel came of a trailer, caught him the chect and knocked him off his Ultra at 55.

10 ft. behind the car, truck, bus, whatever. Always leave enough room to have a way out.

I had a lady in a car rear end me at a red light- lesson learned, now I check my mirrors and have an escape plan. Can't be too careful!

So don't forget-Check your mirrors!!

My eyes are glued to the mirrors when I am stopped until the cars behind me come to a stop, and many seem to stop right on top of me.

Amen, look and evaluate the situation, you only have a split second to make up your mind. That is what mirrors and common scene are for.
