Question A Complete GoPro Type Kit For Your Bike?

Can anyone suggest a complete 'Go Pro' type action camera kit that comes with everything you need to set one up on your bike?

Really just to mount on the handlebars to film what ever may come as I ride (driver's in cages)...

Why not get a dashcam system?

Okay, well, a GoPro can be used to get unusual angles, to point back at yourself, or stuck on a helmet, etc. But you have to keep the batteries charged, keep the memory cards erased, etc. And manually start and stop recording when you want it

A good dashcam is a set-it-and-forget-it system. It's always recording whenever the bike is on. If something happens, you don't have to try to get your glove off to find the record button etc, it's already been recorded. If someone cuts you off and causes an accident, or some monumentally unbelievable thing happens like we see in Russian dashcams, well, you've got it recorded. If some road rager comes at you, you have both a front and rear cam and audio, already recorded, etc. And the memory cards continually record over themselves, so you never run out of space. You just have to remember to archive any footage you want to keep.

I've been running an Innovv K2 system for about five years, it just works. They have newer systems, obviously; I also had a BlueSkySea DV688 on a different bike, it was much less expensive, and it was okay, but the Innovv cameras were definitely better. The newer systems have better microphones, and higher resolution, all the typical improvements you'd expect from technology.

GoPros make really great-looking footage, and their image stabilization is incredible.

If you have a Sena or Cardo Bluetooth intercom/speaker/headset in your helmet, something like a Sena Prism can be useful because it's helmet mounted, it always points at whatever you're looking at, and it'll record your commentary from the bluetooth's microphone. If you don't have a Sena or Cardo, then maybe the Sena C10 is something you'd find interesting, it's a communicator with a built in camera so it's an all in one solution.

Then there's drones. There's nothing like drone footage, especially if you're an adv rider. Drones can get cinematic shots automatically, they can follow you, they can automatically dodge trees or obstacles and keep tracking your bike, etc.

So, again, it all depends on what you want to record. If it's v-logging for YouTube, a GoPro or two or three, plus a helmet cam with a headset, and a drone, all would be appropriate. If it's for legal purposes to document what happened, or for set-it-and-forget-it recording of just anything you come across whenever it happens, a motorcycle -specific dashcam is an excellent choice.

Do a helmet cam setup.
I have my camera hanging upside down on the chin of my helmets.
It's how I get all the fun vids of riding things I have on my youtube.

Default Simple Stuff...

Yeah, just something I can slap on the handlebars that will video my ride in case something happens.

I have been looking into doing the same thing
Toss up between Dashcam front & rear - static view, tho handlebar mounted would show some change as you turn
Advantage - 2 cameras & nothing hanging on my helmet

I have seen the cool "360" view cameras , that can include the driver in the view
Mounted on a "stick" ?? Possibly an Innovv ?

FranB - do you have 3 helmets ?

I have used an inexpensive dash cam for several years. It is mounted behind a windshield to protect it in a rain and it is holding up fine.
