How were you checking and how did they tell you to do it?

+1! If the oil ain't leaking or going out the exhaust (blue smoke), there is something wrong...Check the exhuast pipes for a black, sooty residue or pull the spark plugs for a plug check...

It wasn't leaking, I was checking it wrong. I thought the oil level should have been at the full mark at the top of the dipstick at all times. Going to buy service manuel soon!!!!!!!

Get the H-D svc manual. While you're at it, get the parts manual. Not only does it have part numbers but the exploded views of assemblies is very helpful. If you don't want to buy new, then look on eBay -- many used ones there.
